102年指考翻譯題：

對現今的許多學生而言，在課業與課外活動間取得平衡是一大挑戰。

Teacher’s comments:

Three students make different but typical mistakes in their translation:

The first student forgot to translate ‘many’, but used a very good phrase ‘strike a balance between A and B’.

The second student made a typic mistake that Taiwanese students frequently make:

‘課外’ has to be ‘extracurricular’ instead of out-of-school, which means ‘not attending school and therefore free to work’.

This student also made another mistake to translate ‘許多’ into ‘most of’ rather than ‘many/numerous/a large amount of’.

The third student should have remembered that the plural format of ‘study’ is ‘studies’, not ‘studys’.
